A Little Fix

 I had to figure out a fix.  I couldn't even get the modge-podge open it had hardened with the lid on!

So I had to cut it open...

And had poured the sticky stuff in a jar and so far it is working wonderfully!

Let's Be Honest here..

after all this is a blog. My weekend was pretty boring and horrible. Lots of crying, tissues, headaches, confusion... well you can read about part of it here. But instead of drowning in the negative sea that was, let me show you some of my favorite parts about the weekend.

I loved watching these three amigos. Tux, Peewee, and Second Cat (who's given name is actually Precious). Peewee was digging and the other two wanted in on the action! They are so adorable. And despite my distaste for little dogs most of the time, Peewee (can you tell my 5 year old neighbor named him?) is a pretty nice dog.

 On Friday, the last time I saw Peter until sunday 10pm (!!!) I got to go to his school and bring him lunch! HE has the weirdest office, but I love it. He is a traveling teacher and his office as you can see is probably meant to be exclusively a janitor's closet. but that is ok. I love it anyway! Its his own little space tucked away. Everyone needs a secret place. ;)

 I also did some creative crafting. Made stars from yarn and knit fabric. 

I am not a very good knitter or crocheter, but I do dabble everyone once in a while!

Office Projects

My office at work is messy and kind of bland. Now the messy part is totally and completely my doing, but the bland- not so much- its an office! What else should I expect? I thought to myself which of these problems can I fix with the most fun... and here you have it my solution to you guessed it the bland problem:

AND I thought I would share with you my TO DO schedule for the week. Instead of tons of scraps of paper (since I have enough of those taking up residence on my desk) reminding me of what I need to do at work, I made this little guy:

I printed a free printable from one of my favorite artists Arian and put one of those paper keepers that all the smart kids in high school used ;). Then using one of those pens made for the purpose of *gasp* overheads or white boards I write what my todos... and then erase it the next week.

Hopefully that's handy!

Re-Vamp, Alter, New Life, Second Chance

 And any other name you could say about a top that you changed yourself....

I started with this cute top from my sis in law. It was just a bit wide. (I don't like it when tops are too breezy ;)  )

First measure out you waist, but make sure its big enough to get over your shoulders

Sew the ends together to make a circle and then fold in half and sew that to the top.

To Remake a Candle

Materials needed...

this is a double boiler right? water in the skillet.

the candle melts!

pour it into an old candle with a birthday candle!

I used a tweezers to hold up the b-day candle

the end! ahem... but mine didn't work perfectly... so good luck!

Sewing on Paper

I made cute thank you cards.

I used:
- a plaid card that I cut in half (so i could used each cute side!)
- paper doilies (i got them for a 1$)!!
- thread and needle

A Little Bit of Paint and Elbow Grease

I needed some black frames, but they only had brown ones at the dollar store.

A little bit of paint fixed the problem!

Before I sleep at night

I told my Hubby i needed to do something cute or meaningful by the time I go to bed so...

I made a hanging wall thing:

First cut out the shapes you want - I did it with an old hymnal so that evenif they were blank they would be special

AND then- use a circle (out of card stock would be better)
attach string.

Then I painted with different colors: light/dark blue, green, black.

Glue it all together with modge podge

i bet yours could be way better! Let me know what you do!

Pretty Little Things

I made some hair bows and although this is labeled "sewing" these are no sew.
CUT - a small rectangle and then use another little rectangle to tie around the center OR on the small green one I used an elastic hair band.

I used a bobby pin to attach the green one and I used the excess small  rectangle (the white one had excess) around my pony tail.

But this is a quick fix. :)

Music Flowers

Well... I took amazing GUITAR STRINGS that my brother in law gave me.

Cut and folded them enough so they would just barely fit out of the vase (1$ at dollar tree btw)

Cut pieces of fabric in circles progressively getting smaller.

Sew with sweet button.

TRICK- with the guitar strings that do not have a little circle that makes it easy, weave the end of the guitar string in and out of a button and then sew on the circles and sweet button.

Outfits to think about.

I went to youth group last night wearing this ensemble and I was so enthused that so many people commented! - not because I care so very much if students like my clothes, but because it makes a shared interest and a way to connect- and that my friends is a sweet thing!
