Re-Vamp, Alter, New Life, Second Chance

And any other name you could say about a top that you changed yourself....
I started with this cute top from my sis in law. It was just a bit wide. (I don't like it when tops are too breezy ;)  )

First measure out you waist, but make sure its big enough to get over your shoulders
Sew the ends together to make a circle and then fold in half and sew that to the top.
IF you are lost I found this technique
here....> click me!
ta da!
Notice how it comes together on the bottom now? Notice the white elephant? Notice the mustaches?

Pretty Little Things

I made some hair bows and although this is labeled "sewing" these are no sew.
CUT - a small rectangle and then use another little rectangle to tie around the center OR on the small green one I used an elastic hair band.

I used a bobby pin to attach the green one and I used the excess small  rectangle (the white one had excess) around my pony tail.
If you want a REALLY awesome bow go to Etsy.com and search "bows."

But this is a quick fix. :)

Outfits to think about.

I went to youth group last night wearing this ensemble and I was so enthused that so many people commented! - not because I care so very much if students like my clothes, but because it makes a shared interest and a way to connect- and that my friends is a sweet thing!

A Good Read and a Large Mammal

The movie "Invictus" inspired me to look up the book the movie was formed after and I read it.
I found "Playing the Enemy" to interesting to say the least. Here is a horrible photo of the book (notice how I put buttons by it? I think buttons make everything better)
The book is by John Carlin...

And now for some more exciting new...

TA DA!!!! and elephant! I braided yarn for its tail and after sewing it on the inside... ahem... well anyway I just hand stitched the ears and button eyes. I found a shape of an elephant on the internet and try to roughly cut it out on two sides of fabric. Sew it mostly up, stuff it up and then hand stitch it up and batta bing- an elephant!
I think i'll send this cute guy to my dear friend Charis.

I also am embarking on a hopefully cute sock monkey
- the instructions courtesy of Web Goddess (www.web-goddess.org)
Creepy?? a little... its unfinished,
like junior high boys or even boys at all... give it time

Wanting to be artistic...

Yesterday was horrible. I felt horrible. I acted horrible. Yes, yesterday was a horrible day.
BUT...
Today I want it to be better, life is worth living the good and the bad days,
but I like the better days a lot better.

IT got better from

conversation about GOD... my favorite
laughs,
a sweet hubby,

and time to be creative
now i am no artist! But I love to try.
This is what I knitted:I also decided to be a mock model with my computer camera:
this one was my favorite

Now my plan is to paint, read the beautiful Bible, and listen to music in french.

later that day...

Ended up not listening to french music... =( but did paint a little.
I am messing around, so it didn't turn out the way good or anything^ I saw a cat in the very yellow fields when I was driving home the other day.

^ this one... i just like that purple color
...
Have a LOVELY day.
